What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.
The pain and suffering of this world will not be perpetuated through eternity in an eternally burning hellfire. Otherwise the words of John in Revelation would be meaningless.
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4 NKJV
There will be no eternally burning hellfire… The fires of hell, once they have achieved their purpose, will cease to be.
What has happened in this world, its history, must never be allowed to happen again. “Affliction shall not rise up the second time.” And will never be forgotten.
In this website we have majored in the fact that man does not have an immortal soul. God only, has immortality.
……. He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power…… 1 Timothy 6:15-16 NKJV
Notwithstanding this doctrine of the mortality of man there is something more. Let us consider this. The fires of hell will be an ever present reality for God. We are treading on sacred ground when we say, God is omniscient and omnipresent. That is, He is all powerful and all knowing. He is the great “I Am”. The God of eternity.
For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. Isaiah 57:15 KJV
With us, as mortal beings, there is a past, a present, and a future. Whereas God is eternal. God is love and He will need the presence and comfort of His redeemed to alleviate the pain and distress that sin has caused. (Pause and quietly think of that) Only the redeemed of this earth will be able to do that. Only they, who were once sinners, will be able to identify with the pain that sin has caused. As did their precious Saviour. Every individual redeemed from this world will have their own unique testimony to God. And they will be of comfort to the Almighty.
This people I have formed for Myself; They shall declare My praise. Isaiah 43:21 NKJV
The Book of Revelation endorses this view. Unlike the other books of the Bible which are written by inspired men, and are mostly an historical narrative, Revelation is introduced as: – The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants….. Revelation 1:1 NKJV. This book reveals the very mind of God. After completing the great work of redemption and final judgement (chapter 20) this book seemingly reminds us once again of the fate of the wicked. (Rev. 14:10,11; 21:8; 22:15) Could this be a reminder of the above stated truth that God will forever carry the scars of His work of substitutionary reconciliation.
God came from Teman, and the Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah His splendor covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise. [4] His brightness was like the light; rays flashed from his hand; and there he veiled his power. Habakkuk 3:3-4 ESV
Psalm 18:35 KJV Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.
Isaiah 30:15 KJV – ……..In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength…..
A statement by Ellen White
”There’s no excuse for anyone taking the position that there is no more truth to be revealed and that all our expositions of Scripture are without an error. The fact that certain doctrines have been held as truth for years is not a proof that our ideas are infallible. Age will not make error into truth, and truth can afford to be fair. If the pillars of our faith will not stand investigation, it’s time we knew it.” Counsels to Writers and Editors p.35
Charles Spurgeon said in 1861 “The circumstance which attended Job’s restoration is that to which I invite your particular attention. “The Lord turned again the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends.” Intercessory prayer was the omen of his returning greatness. It was the bow in the cloud, the dove bearing the olive branch, the voice of the turtle announcing the coming summer. When his soul began to expand itself in holy and loving prayer for his erring brethren, then the heart of God showed itself to him by returning to him his prosperity without, and cheering his soul within. Brethren, it is not fetching a laborious compass, when from such a text as this I address you upon the subject of prayer for others. Let us learn today to imitate the example of Job, and pray for our friends, and peradventure if we have been in trouble, our captivity shall be turned.”
Oswald Chambers wrote on June 17th 1909 from Cincinnati :
“I believe more and more that this is His way—intercessory prayer, this is the way He makes us broken bread and poured out wine for other people.”
It is a part of God's plan to grant us, in answer to the PRAYER of faith, that which he would not bestow, did we not thus ask. E G White
God is prepared to do, in answer to our prayers many things He would not otherwise do. This is one of the laws He has ordained. It's purpose is to make us realize our dependence upon Him for every blessing. This sense of dependancy is in itself a tremendous blessing, and it saves us from self-confidence, the source of so much evil. Undoubtedly, even apart from the prayers of many, God works upon the hearts of unbelievers, but it is just as sure that He is prepared to do something outside the ordinary and beyond the usual in response to a believer's prayer. A light between two oceans
That's what this website could be considered to be. A little flickering light between the vast oceans of Protestantism and Seventh-day Adventism . Trying to harmonize what is true and important in both.
