With current events happening in the world …..

Revelation 13:11 KJV And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

“Two horns like a lamb”    America was founded on the two grand principles of civil and religious liberty.

“and he spake as a dragon”.  This verse covers the whole gamut of American history.  The lamb like beast would become a beast-like power of force and coercion.

Revelation 13:12 KJV And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. Some would say that the deadly wound which was inflicted on the first beast was the capture of  Pope Pius VI by general Louis Alexandre Berthier in 1798.”

This is in keeping with what is written in the preface to the King James Bible. “….by writing in defense of the Truth (which hath given such a blow unto that man of sin as will not be healed,)

The “man of sin” being spoken of here is  traditionally understood to be referring to the head of the Roman Catholic Church,  the Pope.  This view is still held by the Seventh-day Adventist church. That view was correct – once. The period of roughly 1000 years – from 500 to 1500AD – was referred to as the dark ages. And it was. But we have come past that time. There is not now countless numbers of people being matyred by that original “man of sin”.  Full versions of Holy Scripture are now readily available through Roman Catholic publishing houses. In our world today Roman Catholicism does not meet the criteria of the beast power.  But communism does.  (See Communism ……. and The World Today  printed below and in the menu)  The “deadly wound” in a modern day sense could be seen to apply to the fall of the USSR in 1991. Putin has endeavoured to heal that deadly wound.

Revelation 13:13 KJV And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

America stands as the only nation to have used the atomic bomb on their fellow man.

Revelation 13:14 KJV And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

Left wing atheism has taken deep root in America.

America may well just have created an image to the beast in fulfillment of Bible prophecy. See the new article  “The Image To The Beast”,  just after “Ukraine…….spiritual Israel”, in the menu.

Russia is on its knees. Now is not the time for appeasement.  The author journalist Mikhail Shishkin said in an interview April 2023.

“The only way out is to inflict a military defeat on the Putin regime. Therefore, democratic countries must help the Ukrainians with everything they can, and above all with weapons. After the war, the whole world will come to your aid to reconstruct what has been destroyed, and the country will be able to rebuild itself. And Russia will lie in the ruins of economy and in the ruins of consciousness. A new birth of my country is possible only through the complete destruction of the Putin regime. The empire must be amputated from the Russian person, like a malignant cancer. This “hour zero” is vital for Russia. My country will have a future only if it passes through total defeat, as happened with Germany.”

The whole interview is quoted in the page “The War in Ukraine” in the menu.  http://in-his-time.com/?page_id=2036

This is a call to prayer to God’s people worldwide.

Zechariah 4:6 KJV – Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

President Trump thinks he is being the great peacemaker. Instead he is aiding and abetting the anti-christ power – Revelation 11:7 KJV – “the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit..” (See the following article)

Communism…..and The World Today ……. Ukraine

An expose of communism

Communism manifested itself in the early 20th century. This was after the period of the “dark ages” which is generally considered to be roughly between 500 and 1500AD. Through this period the Old and New testaments were mostly hidden from the people and only in the hands of the clergy. This is why the Bible says they were “clothed in sackcloth” for 1260 years. And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.”  Rev.11:3 NIV (The day-yearprinciple, year-day principle or year-for-a-day principle is a method of interpretation of Bible prophecy in which the word day in prophecy is considered to be symbolic of a year of actual time…. see link below)

Communism had its roots in an event that had happened almost 200 years previously. An event that is mentioned in the 11th chapter of the book of Revelation. And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.  Rev.11:7

God has presented the French Revolution as a lesson of what rejection of His Word can lead to. At this time at the height of the Revolution, France was the first country to legalise atheism. In Nov, 1793, the National Assembly abolished religion and banned the Bible by law. Through the dark ages, God’s “two witnesses”, the Old and the New Testaments had continued to witness  to the truth of God for 1260 years even though clothed in sackcloth. (Rev.11:3)  This 1260 year period of time is seen as culminating towards the end of the 18th century.

“The Millerites, like the earlier Bible students of the Reformation and post-Reformation eras and the Seventh-day Adventists, understand the 1260 days as lasting AD 538 to 1798 as the duration of the papacy over Rome. This period began with the defeat of the Ostrogoths by the general Belisarius and ended with the successes of French general Napoleon Bonaparte, specifically, the capture of Pope Pius VI by general Louis Alexandre Berthier in 1798.”  This is an  extract from the following  article:  https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Day-year_principle#:~:text=Historicist%20interpreters%20have%20usually%20understood,Jewish%20year%20multiplied%20by%203.5

France stands apart in the world’s history as the only nation on record to have actually denied through its legislative assembly the existence of God. We cast our minds forward 200 years from that perilous time and we find that this is what communism did to the world throughout the 20th century. Deaths under communist persecution in the 20th century – estimates vary from 85 to 100 million people. Its persecutions and cruelty still persist into the 21st century. If anyone doubts the evils of communism, they should read the book “In God’s Underground” by Richard Wurmbrand.

Many see these events as epitomizing  “the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit.” (Rev.11:7) Communism had its roots in the French Revolution. To this day communism is based on atheism. This is the first lie. The lie that God does not exist. The second lie follows on from the first. If God does not exist then it is consequential that mankind is not accountable to God. So then man becomes accountable, not to God, but to the state and those men who stand in the place of God. This is something that was new in the world order. The “bottomless pit” is where Satan dwells. This “beast” that has proceeded directly from the presence of Satan is the epitome of evil. As stated above, communism has been responsible for countless millions of deaths. And it is still happening. China still embraces communism and hence, atheism. Russia still has the residue of communism within her borders. Nevertheless her people are always precious in God’s sight. It is said that China has the fastest growing church in the world. “Where sin abounds grace does much more abound”. God’s people around the world are constantly praying for His kingdom to enlarge and grow. What is happening in the world today is not a conflict between political systems. It is a conflict between good and evil – between Christ and Satan. In the book of Colossians we read of the supremacy of the Son of God.

The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.  He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.  And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him,  and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.  Col.1:15-20 NIV

Ukraine

The following passage of Scripture seems to apply peculiarly to what is happening in the world today: The invasion of  Ukraine by Russia seems to stand out.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EE22kqGB2Ok

Ezekiel 38:2-3,8-11,14,16,18-23 ESV

“Son of man, set your face toward Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him [3] and say, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. [8] After many days you will be mustered. In the latter years you will go against the land that is restored from war, the land whose people were gathered from many peoples upon the mountains of Israel, which had been a continual waste. Its people were brought out from the peoples and now dwell securely, all of them. [9] You will advance, coming on like a storm. You will be like a cloud covering the land, you and all your hordes, and many peoples with you. [10] “Thus says the Lord GOD: On that day, thoughts will come into your mind, and you will devise an evil scheme [11] and say, ‘I will go up against the land of unwalled villages. I will fall upon the quiet people who dwell securely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having no bars or gates,’ [14] “Therefore, son of man, prophesy, and say to Gog, Thus says the Lord GOD: On that day when my people Israel are dwelling securely, will you not know it? [16] You will come up against my people Israel, like a cloud covering the land. In the latter days I will bring you against my land, that the nations may know me, when through you, O Gog, I vindicate my holiness before their eyes. [18] But on that day, the day that Gog shall come against the land of Israel, declares the Lord GOD, my wrath will be roused in my anger. [19] For in my jealousy and in my blazing wrath I declare, On that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. [20] The fish of the sea and the birds of the heavens and the beasts of the field and all creeping things that creep on the ground, and all the people who are on the face of the earth, shall quake at my presence. And the mountains shall be thrown down, and the cliffs shall fall, and every wall shall tumble to the ground. [21] I will summon a sword against Gog on all my mountains, declares the Lord GOD. Every man’s sword will be against his brother. [22] With pestilence and bloodshed I will enter into judgment with him, and I will rain upon him and his hordes and the many peoples who are with him torrential rains and hailstones, fire and sulfur. [23] So I will show my greatness and my holiness and make myself known in the eyes of many nations. Then they will know that I am the LORD.

Ezekiel 39:1-3,6-8,21-22,29 ESV

“And you, son of man, prophesy against Gog and say, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. [2] And I will turn you about and drive you forward, and bring you up from the uttermost parts of the north, and lead you against the mountains of Israel. [3] Then I will strike your bow from your left hand, and will make your arrows drop out of your right hand. [6] I will send fire on Magog and on those who dwell securely in the coastlands, and they shall know that I am the LORD. [7] “And my holy name I will make known in the midst of my people Israel, and I will not let my holy name be profaned anymore. And the nations shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel. [8] Behold, it is coming and it will be brought about, declares the Lord GOD. That is the day of which I have spoken. [21] “And I will set my glory among the nations, and all the nations shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid on them. [22] The house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God, from that day forward. [29] And I will not hide my face anymore from them, when I pour out my Spirit upon the house of Israel, declares the Lord GOD.”

It’s interesting that in the opening verses in both of these chapters Gog and Magog are called “Prince of Rosh” in the New King James Version of the Bible. This is beginning to sound like Russia. And bearing in mind that when the Bible talks about Israel at the end of time, it is talking about spiritual Israel.  Many modern commentators overlook this fact.

Galatians 3:7,29 ESV Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham. [29] And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.

Galatians 3:8-9 ESV And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.” [9] So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.

Jesus said to His own people:

Matthew 21:43 ESV Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people producing its fruits.

Matthew 3:9 ESV And do not presume to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father,’ for I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children for Abraham.

So when we read of “Israel” in the above passage from Ezekiel we can reasonably say that this is referring to spiritual Israel, the Christian church, the body of Christ at the end of time. And this church does not have borders but is interspersed among all nations of the world.

It may be interesting to note that one of the highest ‘density’ of ‘reads’ (reads compared to population)  of this website comes from, Ukraine.

The following article is an example of what is happening in Ukraine.

Nina Rotkina, Director of Ellel Ukraine

First, I want to thank you for your prayers. They really matter. The official news about the war is not the whole truth. The real situation is much, much worse. Every day it gets more and more tough. The number of war victims is increasing with each day.

One of the worst situations is in the city of Kharkiv. A relative there, lay for one and a half hours under bullets, unable to get back to her apartment after going out to buy food for herself and her daughter. God protected her, and now they have left the city and are in a safe place.

we have seen how God cares about His children.

At the same time, we have seen how God cares about His children. There are some amazing real stories coming out of the conflict. The Pastor of a small church in Volnovakha did not feel like fleeing from the city for the first days of the war. But then he heard the Lord saying: “Leave the city immediately”. He took the whole church in two buses, and they left the city. Only a few hours later the Russians completely destroyed the city, including their houses. There is no such place any more – just bare ground. This is not the only case when small cities are completely put to ruins, not just a few houses. There are dozens and dozens of such places.

One of our associates in Kharkiv told how her 10-storey apartment block was bombed and all windows were broken – except for the windows in her apartment. There is a very strong presence of the Lord in this area.

They say they feel someone invisible nearby and experience supernatural protection

We have heard of soldiers in the front-line testifying to supernatural miracles and wonders happening. They say they feel someone invisible nearby and experience supernatural protection when bullets and shells were just flying past. They also tell of unexplained guidance and wisdom in the battles, some feel unusual strength. Someone said that they could see the enemies, even in pitch darkness, and they knew what to do and how to do it, but they were not visible to the Russians. It’s very inspiring indeed!

People’s lives and their sufferings are in the focus of our concern and prayers. The sufferings civilians endure are enormous. Many, many thousands have been killed. Many people are without food and water, trapped in the basements of buildings, under the ruins. They cannot get out themselves, and the rescue service can’t help them, because of constant shelling and bombing.

Where we are in Kremenchug which is currently safe. No missiles, tanks or Russian troops so far. All our church is here, only a few families, out of 400 members, left for Western Ukraine or Poland so far. Today there were 360 people at our prayer meeting. And 6 new converts have been baptised in the water today!

6 new converts have been baptised in the water today!

More and more traumatised people are arriving from Kharkiv. Kremenchug and Poltava now function as cities of refuge. All the churches in our two cities have refitted their buildings as refuge places. But in the churches, the refugees are receiving not only physical care, but they hear about God and they are prayed for.

Lilia, and some of our ministry team members in Poltava, began to minister to the first groups of refugees who survived bombing in Kharkiv. After being prayed for they felt much better. Unbelievers were all happy to be prayed for. God again was faithful! But they all are so traumatised that they are frozen in their emotions.

Yesterday we decided to organise a special group in Poltava of Ellel Associates and Ellel Explore students. They will be ministering specifically to traumatised people from Kharkiv area. Lilia will be a leader of this group.

Our Explore course, with 140 students has been run in Poltava for almost two years. We have had students from all over Ukraine. The next course was to be on how to minister to people in shock and trauma! So, we have compiled a general instruction on how use those precious keys, with a detailed prayer guide showing how to minister into shock and trauma. There is a special social media group for all Explore students – praise God for modern technologies! Isn’t it amazing how God is moving to bring His healing even in such circumstances! Our students will learn ‘on the job’!

Ellel teaching on Healing from the Consequences of Shock and Trauma is extremely relevant here now

There are huge numbers of refugees all over Ukraine and they all need this kind of help. Ellel teaching on ‘Healing from the Consequences of Shock and Trauma’ is extremely relevant here now. It gives the keys to minister quickly and effectively into people’s lives. We published Peter’s book on this subject two years ago. Hundreds of people have got this manual in their hands now!

Please, pray that everybody on the team could hear God’s guidance for their lives at this time. We want to be in the centre of God’s will.

The churches are constantly praying. There is a very strong anointing at prayer meetings. Our Ellel associates live all over Ukraine in the major cities.

Kremenchug, Ukraine, 7 March 2022

Interesting point you bring out. Though I would think that the JW’s are not necessary a harmless group. In denying the divinity of Jesus Christ they would fall under the umbrella of what John writes about in 1 John 4:1-3. In that sense I would have to agree with the Orthodox Church that they are a ‘heretical group’. I know you are trying to bring out a principle here – of persecution. In hanging our hopes on an expected outward show of ‘persecution’ we may be unaware of what is happening at a deeper spiritual level. I refer to the article on this website ‘Thoughts on Last Day Events’.

I knew little or nothing about the subject before I started with this blog. Find a good provider that has good reviews and you feel you can work with. Then select a platform to publish with. I use Word Press 3.6. It seems to work for me. But it was a steep learning curve for me when I first started. The tutorials on you tube are good. Wish you well on your endeavours. Let me know how you get on.
