For the Lord shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act. Isaiah 28:21 KJV
Look among the nations, and see; wonder and be astounded. For I am doing a work in your days that you would not believe if told. Habakkuk 1:5 ESV
If God is going to do a new or “strange” work at the end of time, we can be assured that He will support and sustain His people. God has been waiting since time immemorial for his people to enter his true rest. (Heb.4:11)
If any reader is going through particularly harrowing experiences they ought not to be surprised. Because of the times in which we live this is to be expected. God is testing his people. “He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver…..” Malachi 3:3 ESV Anyone who thinks they can be in control and fully comprehend this time is mistaken. It is a hard time. When all we can see is depression and darkness then we are to look up. “Count it all joy”, said James, “when you fall into different temptations.” (James 1:2) Paul said, For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake… Philippians 1:29 ESV Peter said we are to follow “in his steps”. (1 Pet.2:21)
Romans 8:26 KJV Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
John 4:23-24 KJV But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. [24] God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Spiritual Israel
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. Galatians 3:29 KJV
This then is the church, the invisible church, the true spiritual body of Christ. This could be comprised of any openly Christian country. It could also be comprised of any country which is not openly Christian. This could involve countries like China or Iran. The 'underground church' in such countries is very real.
They will go forth. "fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners" Song of Solomon 6:10 KJV
With the prayers of the world behind her, Ukraine is taking a leading role in this world’s affairs. It has a strong Christian history. This is a country that relinquished its nuclear weapons in 1994. It could very well be the peaceable "land of unwalled villages" spoken of in Ezekiel 38:11. These prophecies, had meaning for the people of their day. But they also have significant meaning for us today, who live in the "latter years". (Ezekiel 38:8)
As such, Ukraine would come under the banner of spiritual Israel. As opposed to literal Israel, a country in the Middle East. And now, on the battlefields of eastern Europe, Ukraine has shown her hand.
The country to its north (Russia) could very well be Russia which has an "evil thought" of conquest.
Of Russia it could be said Ezekiel 38:10-11 AMP - you will devise an evil plan, 11 and you will say, ‘I will go up against an open country; I will come against those who are at rest and peaceful, who live securely, all of them living without walls and having neither bars nor gates,
The conquest of this country has not been the walk in the park that Russia intended. It could be said of Ukraine:
Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners?
Song of Solomon 6:10 KJV
We are yet to fully see God's judgements fall upon Russia.
Ezekiel 38:4 KJV
And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:
Ezekiel 39:6-7 KJV
And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the LORD. [7] So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
Ezekiel 38:21 KJV
And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man's sword shall be against his brother.
Literal Israel
As a nation, they sealed their fate 2000 years ago when they crucified the Lord of Glory. They uttered their own prophetic demise.
And all the people answered, “Let [the responsibility for] His blood be on us and on our children!” Matthew 27:25 AMP
But, of course, like all other sinners, they can accept Jesus as their Saviour. Hosea 2:23 AMP - I will also have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy;
And I will say to those who were not My people,
‘You are My people,’
And they will say, ‘You are my God!’”
The rejection of the Messiah was the human races’ greatest sin. This led ultimately to the release of the antichrist from the pit and the horrors of the dark ages – never part of God’s plan. God intended, his people, to embrace the Messiah – who would willingly have gone to the sacrificial altar. The world would then never have gone through the horrors of the dark ages. The Lamb of God was to have been slain with pity, untold sorrow and eternal gratefulness. Instead He was slain with hatred, cruelty and untold malice. This was the way the world treated Jesus, the Son of God, the second person of the Godhead.

A statement by Ellen White
”There’s no excuse for anyone taking the position that there is no more truth to be revealed and that all our expositions of Scripture are without an error. The fact that certain doctrines have been held as truth for years is not a proof that our ideas are infallible. Age will not make error into truth, and truth can afford to be fair. If the pillars of our faith will not stand investigation, it’s time we knew it.” Counsels to Writers and Editors p.35
Charles Spurgeon said in 1861 “The circumstance which attended Job’s restoration is that to which I invite your particular attention. “The Lord turned again the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends.” Intercessory prayer was the omen of his returning greatness. It was the bow in the cloud, the dove bearing the olive branch, the voice of the turtle announcing the coming summer. When his soul began to expand itself in holy and loving prayer for his erring brethren, then the heart of God showed itself to him by returning to him his prosperity without, and cheering his soul within. Brethren, it is not fetching a laborious compass, when from such a text as this I address you upon the subject of prayer for others. Let us learn today to imitate the example of Job, and pray for our friends, and peradventure if we have been in trouble, our captivity shall be turned.”
Oswald Chambers wrote on June 17th 1909 from Cincinnati :
“I believe more and more that this is His way—intercessory prayer, this is the way He makes us broken bread and poured out wine for other people.”
It is a part of God's plan to grant us, in answer to the PRAYER of faith, that which he would not bestow, did we not thus ask. E G White
God is prepared to do, in answer to our prayers many things He would not otherwise do. This is one of the laws He has ordained. It's purpose is to make us realize our dependence upon Him for every blessing. This sense of dependancy is in itself a tremendous blessing, and it saves us from self-confidence, the source of so much evil. Undoubtedly, even apart from the prayers of many, God works upon the hearts of unbelievers, but it is just as sure that He is prepared to do something outside the ordinary and beyond the usual in response to a believer's prayer. 1 Samuel 14:6 KJV - it may be that the LORD will work for us: for there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few.
A light between two oceans
That's what this website could be considered to be. A little flickering light between the vast oceans of Protestantism and Seventh-day Adventism . Trying to harmonize what is true and important in both.
Psalm 43:3 KJV
O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.
Rom.8:2 NRSV
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.
Eccl.3:11 RSV
He has made everything beautiful in its time; also he has put eternity into man's mind, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.
Isa.30:15 RSV
"In returning and rest you shall be saved;
in quietness and in trust shall be your strength."
